Transformers without Megan Fox is like a shark without its teeth. When I saw the first trailer, knowing Megan Fox wouldn't be in it I reject the whole movie. I thought it's gonna sucks big time (as Revenge of the Fallen is a big let down), it's gonna be lame, and that new chick is not gonna be great at all as no one can replace Fox's presence. Boy, how the movie proved me wrong.
Hasbro is the creator of these roots. It was toys and an animated cartoon made for children. The story line and the plot, the whole thing is a big cliche, right there, shoved at your face. I don't need to tell you the ending, or how it goes, I'm sure you already know how it all went down. We all know how the world would be saved, again. We all know how the city would be used for a robots battlefield, how the government will act smart and try to figure out or create some sort of conspiracy, and how Sam would always climb something tall up and do something about some sort of small-alien-gadget.
There is really almost nothing to see in the story line. But the presentation of the movie is interesting. Have you notice that this is a child play-thing themed story, with adult elements such as strong language, sexual content, and violence? And it's presented so honest, so human it's captivating.
The performance are not bad, but not an Oscar winning acting either. The last two movies in the franchise, Megan Fox was Sam Witwicky's love interest. People says she acts bad but I honestly don't see it. What I think is that this is a pure entertainment type of movie, so I never really look into the acting.
Shia says that it's somehow a blessing Megan's not here as Sam's character, his heroic side will have a space as Sam and Mikaela has been always together and seen as one. Well, Shia's right. But Carly, Rosie's character seems like a tag-along, while Fox's Mikaela has more kick into it.
Rosie's acting is not bad. It's not bad at all, it's believable and she is just eye catching and interesting with the looks and the character and the British accent. Oh, the British accent. She's just amazing in the movie, but her character make her seems powerless. Maybe when Shia pointed out that Sam's heroic side will grow, it's also because Carly's the damsel in distress. I wish Rosie's character had a couple more punches in her.
Visually its's stunning. Well, it's Michael fucking Bay. It's cars, turning elegantly into huge robots. But also, the movie always offers great stunning scenery of nature. The space, the dessert, and the city scape are also captured nicely. The whole action-packed visuals and sounds gives me goosebumbs here and there, and it's good knowing that Michael Bay brings a little Snyder effects such as the slow motioned scenes and the amazing visuals. The score for this movie is thrilling. It keeps us up to pace, it creates tension and excitement. They uses classical music in action iron fisted fight scenes. The soundtrack is amazing. Well, it's mainstream-ly amazing and honestly I had only hear one song, it was Monster by Paramore which something that I really like.
Overall, the movie's really really entertaining. I know it will do good in the box office, even though the critics and reviewers will just butcher it, but I view this as an entertainment piece of art. There is nothing to learn from the movie (unless you are a nine year olds), the acting's doesn't really matter and surely the critical reception is gonna be bad. But go see it. It made up for the catastrophe on Revenge of the Fallen (which was also entertaining). You know what they say, third time's a charm.

I personally think that Megan Fox is really really replaceable :p she's hot alright, but she never offered a great performance, as a matter of fact, she's bad. with or without her, it wouldn't even make any difference. that's just my opinion though haha
ReplyDeletewell actually most of the critics kinda like. not love it, but some of them said it was better than the first two. too bad I cant watch it on the big screen :(
Yes, she is very replaceable. Too be honest, the majority of people who is coming to watch Transformers is for the robots, the explosions, and Megan Fox's sex appeal. They wouldn't care about the story, let alone the performance the actor/actress delivered.
ReplyDeleteIt is the best out of the three, even though it doesn't have that element of surprise like the first Transformers did. On a happier note, a lot of us can watch it next week!
